Who am I?
This question sounds simple, but sometimes it is difficult to answer. Because over the years, people change not only their work but also their perspective. I am Semih Can. I have been involved in web design and digital projects since 2008. Since then, I have constantly tried to improve myself both technically and in terms of design understanding.
In the first years, I learned everything by trial and error. Ready-made systems were not so common at that time. I progressed by writing code, breaking it, and redoing it. Actually, I still work with the same logic today.
What does web design mean to me?
Web design is not just a visual job for me. The process of taking a problem and making it simplest and most understandable. A site may look nice, but if it is slow, unusable, or does not convey its message clearly, it is incomplete for me.
That's why I always ask this question in my projects:
“How does someone who sees this site for the first time feel?”
If the answer is not clear, the design is not correct.
What has changed over the years?
Over time, I realized that less is always more powerful. Less colour, less effect, less confusion… In return, more speed, more clarity and more confidence.
In my work today:
-
Mobile compatibility
-
Performance
-
Clean code
-
User experience
it is my priority. I especially avoid details that are pleasing to the eye but useless.
Why did I renew this site?
Frankly, I have always postponed my own site for years. Between client projects, work, and daily hustle, I always put off doing something "for myself" until later. But at one point I realized: how accurately can you describe the work of someone who cannot set up his own storefront properly?
This was exactly the reason why I started this site from scratch. I wanted to create a simpler, faster, clearer structure. At the same time, I wanted to have a space where I could share my experiences on the blog side. You can also learn more by checking out my home page and about me page.
What happens next?

From time to time I share my personal thoughts
I plan to share. I'm not trying to teach at length; There will be mostly notes from the "down-to-earth".
